This is a summary of The Billage of Perception: Chapter 1 storyline, also known as the A-side of Billlie's lore.If you are not already familiar with the basics of their lore, please click here to read a quick summary on their general storyline. If you want to keep reading about The Billage of Perception, let's continue!
The Billlie story takes place in a multiverse. Each timeline is different, but is centered around the same group of girls, and the same event: the disappearance of a girl named Billlie Love on the eleventh day. The story is told through their music videos, lyrics and through short films that are released ahead of every comeback. Currently, the stories of two different universes in the multiverse are being told. The first is "The Billage of Perception" series and the second is "The Collective Soul and Unconscious" series. Each of Billlie's comebacks is a chapter in one of the series. We dont yet know how Billlie Love disappeared, or what took her. All we know is that when all of the girls and Billlie Love meet together, something happens that causes her to vanish. Once she is gone, the other girls begin to lose their memories of her completely. There have been mentions of a monster or a dark creature that takes her, but there have also been hints that the girls themselves caused her to disappear. This is the biggest mystery in their storyline. There are two main settings used in their stories: the real world and the imaginary world that has been created in the girls minds. The real world is, of course, their reality and everyday life. This side is referred to as the A-side. Their imaginary world is a world created in their unconscious. This world helps give us an insight into their minds and thoughts. Like dreams, it sometimes has strange and unusual elements. This word is referred to as the B-side. There is a line drawn between the real world and their imagination, but sometimes their imaginary world can bleed into the real world.each of their releases is focused on either the A or B side of their universe. "The Billage of Perception" is about the A-side while "The Collective Soul and Unconscious" is about the B-side. They are two different universes with their own storylines.back

Part one: Bi11lie chapters 1 and 2
This story is an A-side, or reality based story. It is different from other stories in the billlie universe in that it is partly told by a narrator other than the members. The narrator is a young girl telling the story to her brother.“It was the 11th day when summer was coming to an end, a story about a fearsome intruder. Do you want to hear it? A secret of a fearsome intruder, that appears and takes one of us to the other side of the world when the bell rings eleven times”

They are exploring in the woods and eventually come to Billlie Love's abandoned house. They both go inside and sit on the stairs to the attic, and the girl begins to tell the story of Billlie to her brother. As she begins to tell the story, the narration switches to Suhyeon and the scene switches to the member's perspective. it is the eleventh day and everything is ordinary, until the members receive a purple message warning them that a darkness is coming and history is repeating again.(image text: "on 11/11, today, the sad and strange story will be repeated again. near you... Darkness will take your B.")

Suhyeon then indicates they know this means a "dark, loveless person" is coming to take one of them away. Then, the bell rings eleven times and the screen goes dark. the next part of the story, Bi11lie: chapter 2, picks up after billlie has already disappeared.
We next see a compilation of the members after Billlie's disappearance. Suhyeon and Haruna's parents discuss that Billlie is missing. The two exchange a knowing glance.

Siyoon and Haram pray together in their bedroom. Siyoon asks Haram where she thinks Billlie went, and that it must be a much nicer place than where they are. Haram says she doesn't want to know, because there's no way they can follow her. Siyoon asks if she would follow her if she could, but Haram just shushes her.

Sua and Tsuki are together in a pizza parlor, and Sua is on the phone with someone. she says she has no idea where Billlie went because she was working, and hangs up the phone. they exchange a look with one another.

The scene changes and we learn from Suhyeon's narration what really happened that day. They had spend the eleventh day with each other, knowing they were safe together. Once they realized Billlie Love was alone, they went to find her, but it was too late. No one was there for her when "Billlie was captured in the attic" is how Suhyeon describes it. Suhyeon and Haruna sit at dinner with their parents, who are talking about what Mr. Love told them. Billlie had waited for her friends to come and protect her, but no one ever came. When Suhyeon and Haruna are asked if they were going to Billlie Love's house that day, they lie and say no.

The young girl we saw at the beginning of the story starts narrating again. "They all became liars...to Billlie and to the world. Pitiful. Spending each day in sadness, despair, and self criticism, they are waiting for Billlie."while she tells this part of the story, we see the members on the night of the incident, standing in the purple rain outside of Billlie's house. They know it is too late and there is nothing more they can do. Billlie has been taken, and they must live with their secret and their guilt.

The narrating girl explains to her brother that the stairs in Billlie Love's house lead to an attic. The girls are waiting there. "there's no attic in this house!" her younger brother claims. But she explains, if you are desperate enough, you can make something that doesn't exist exist. "close your eyes, wake up your senses, and open your mind" she tells him. "go up the stairs and look at the world of the eleven". The camera slowly climbs the staircase, and the girls are waiting in the attic, sun streaming through the windows onto white feathers.

this is where Bi11lie chapters 1 and 2 leave off. One note I'd like to add about the ending, as it can seem a little confusing: my interpretation is that this is the girls entering the B-side. Out of their desperation and sadness after what happened to Billlie, they used their imaginations to create a place for them to stay together without being reminded of everything that happened. The attic became the entrance to the B-side in this timeline.
Part two: Ring x Ring MVThis MV is not very lore heavy but it does have a few very important story points that progress the A-side storyline forward.Firstly, a siren plays at the beginning of the song. This was mentioned by Sua in an interview, she says “The siren will be Billlie’s signal to wake up and for other Billlies in the world to wake up”. After they hear this siren, the girls have been "awakened" and called by the B-side world. We see the girls outside of Billlie's house, and the MV is dedicated "to my billlie". Then, the camera travels up the stairs in the house again and the music video begins in the attic/B-side entrance. There are various shots of the girls exploring what looks to be an expanded version of the attic/house.

Previously in the Bi11lie videos, Haram and Siyoon discussed how they could never find Billlie or go to where she had gone. But now things are different; they are able to go to the B-side. they search through the house, looking for a hint as to where Billlie might have gone. Sua finds a circular door with a B on it, which leads to a room of colorful stairs with a door. The video ends with the members going through the door, and the bell beginning to ring again. They are headed somewhere unknown, presumeably to find Billlie or try and fix their past.

The lyrics of ring x ring also back up what is seen in the music video. The girls sing about "come find the missing" and tell Billlie "you wait right there, I'll come save you". It describes the beginning of their journey to find her. Ring x Ring shows how they are beginning that journey.
Part three: mini album lyrics
rather than introduce new lore, the lyrics of The Billage of Perception: Chapter One help give more insight into the events we have already discussed.flipp!ng a cointhe lyrics of flipping a coin talk about the endless possibilities of the B-side and how the choices the girls make determine their lives."can be anything, look carefully
baby check it out B-side""The result of a choice is like a shiny coin front,
it's got a dark back
the darkness is not bad again,
anything can be good or bad
reveal if you choose
there is no answer in it"The B-side can be anything due to it being the world of their imaginations. It also talks about choices, like the two sides when "flipping a coin". This could be about their choices that led to the disappearance of Billlie and how those choices shaped their lives. However, they also say that any choice can be good or bad and sometimes there is no real answer.the eleventh daylike the title suggests, this song is recounting the eleventh day and what events occurred. it is likely being sung some time after the eleventh day happened as the girls are already starting to lose their memories."because now it's so creepy,
I don't remember that day.
strange things happened,
pouring purple rain,
horribly, she'd hide somewhere
memories are foggy.
the signs of the eleventh day,
close your mouth, it's secret
hide somewhere"the girls continue to keep what happened a secret, but their memories of that day are beginning to grow weak. they have an ominous feeling about it, but the details are lost to them.everybody's got a $ECRETthe lyrics of egas are similar to that of the eleventh day. they discuss how the girls feel like they have a secret that they can't quite remember."everybody's got a secret
nobody knows, like a dream
if you look at the darkly hidden secret,
what could I do?
everybody's gotta know this,
maybe it's nothing,
it might be dangerous"the girls feel like they have a secret, but nobody knows what it is. the events of that day are fading from them like a dream, and they don't know what to do. they feel conflicted about keeping the secret and don't know if it's dangerous or not.
the rumorThis song is about how Billlie Love has become the town gossip that everyone is talking about, and how only the girls know the real truth."whatchamacallit, what’s up?
forgot her name was, who’s up?
they all talk about her soul
Billlie
about her friendship? messed up
did you know her? who didn’t?
you swear it what for?
we heard it all
Billlie""Everyone knows about her
It’s shallow and widespread
But the story never reaches a stop
It’s an open end
Everyone knows about her, bla bla bla
Gather together and make tension up
maybe they have no eyes and ears
You don’t know anything
but that's secret for now"Everyone in the village is gossiping about Billlie and acting like they knew her, or just sharing stories for attention. The girls are the only ones who know what really happened and that the stories being shared are just gossip.
mini album passagesIn the physical album "The Billage of Perception: Chapter one" there are a few passages written in the album relating to the lore. they are written here word for word as they are in the album; the original text is in english so no translation was needed.
In the Billage
“Oh my god! You’ve got to be kidding me. You’ve never heard the story of Billlie? It’s been around since your great-grandmother’s days. Me? I heard about it from my great-aunt too. It’s a story about an intrusion that takes place on the 11th day one late summer month. Right before sunset…”
In the House
“Around 4-5ish… the church bell started to ring and rang 11 times as if it were broken. It was accompanied by a siren that sounded like a crazy bird. Strange, right? The stranger thing was that no adults in the village were able to hear the loud cacophony; not even a single one. All of the children in the village, however, were aware. They all knew that when the eleventh chimes sounded, purple rain would fall from the sky in broad daylight. They all knew the secret of the strange large being who would appear and take one of them to the other side.”
In the Attic
“So the mystic purple rain fell, and Billlie was taken from her attic by the large stranger. None of her friends could help her. They were all busy. You know how busy all teens are these days. Sadly, her friends all became liars. To Billlie, and to the world. In despair, sadness, and ridden with guilt, we wait for billlie.”
